Header Card Printing: A No-Frills Solution to Poly Bag Packaging
Custom header card printing (also referred to as bag topper printing) is the ideal solution to packaging products in plastic bags, clear or otherwise. Not only are they cost-effective, they also allow you to insert branding. This works especially well with off-size items, such as loofah sponges and various bath items, children’s toys, and kitchen equipment. The header card also contains important information about your product that cannot be placed anywhere else, such as the brand, ingredients, pricing, and contact details.
Header cards can be punched with a hole suited for pegs or a sombrero-type hole for in-store display racks. We also make sure our header cards are scored for easier folding. There are multiple size options to pick from so that you’re covered no matter how big your bag may be. We use thick, durable cardstocks with matte, gloss, or high-gloss UV coating. We even have an uncoated option for anyone looking to handwrite on their header cards.
Header card printing is commonly used to seal arts and crafts products, party supplies, jewelry products, gift bags, small hardware supplies, and other items packaged in plastic. Some people use printed header cards to personalize bags that are given out during special events as well. A header card that’s too small will add unwanted and unsightly creases to the bag. One that’s too large, on the other hand, will just look awkward and unprofessional. Here’s a quick guide on the different sizes you might need for your custom header card order.
- 3” x 4” (folds to 3” x 2”) is our smallest size. It is best suited for small items such as candies, dog treats, and nuts and bolts.
- 4” x 4” (folds to 4” x 2”) is the perfect size for food items. Use it for cookies, spices, and trail mix.
- 5” x 5” (folds to 5” x 2.5”) header cards are a great choice for general purpose use. It is commonly seen with party favors, arts and crafts materials, and hardware supplies such as nails, screws, and hinges.
- 6” x 5” (folds to 6” x 2.5”) is a versatile size that’s commonly used with bulky items and apparel. Perfect for costumes and masks during the holiday season.
- 8” x 5” (folds to 8” x 2.5”) is the biggest header card size we offer. Ideal uses for these are with children’s toys, kitchen equipment, and bagged fruits and vegetables.
Header Cards FAQs
Is there a minimum order for header cards?
Yes, there is. The fewest you can order is 25 custom header cards while you can print as many as 100,000. We recommend ordering more than the minimum to make each header card more cost-effective.
Can I print on both sides of the header cards?
Yes, you can. By default, the front of your header cards are to be printed in full-color. For the back, you have the option to print grayscale, full-color, or to leave it blank.
How much does it cost to print custom header cards?
The cost for custom header cards depends on the size, material, quantity, and additional printing processes. When you print more, you get to save more.
What file types do you accept?
Our preferred file format is PDF but we also accept files formatted as AI, DOC, EPS, JPG, PNG, PSD, PUB, TIF and XLS.
